Hundreds gathered at Omni’s annual Holiday Lights Celebration welcoming this holiday season as well as participating in a silent auction raising $1,850 for Barnabas Center. The silent auction is a new tradition and was kicked-off at the Holiday Lights Celebration to raise money for the local community in alignment with Omni’s Say Goodnight to Hunger program. The silent auction was then available after the event at Marché Burette through December 7.

The resort’s recreation team connected with other Omni Hotels and Resorts to collect donated vacation packages for the silent auction. In addition, the team worked with a local artist who painted at the Holiday Lights Celebration and then donated their artwork to the silent auction. The check for the money raised through the silent auction was presented at Barnabas Center 1303 Jasmine Street #101 on Tuesday, December 18.

“Barnabas Center continues to be grateful for the outstanding financial and volunteer support from Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort”, explains Tania Yount, Chief Development Officer at Barnabas Center. “The Omni and their committed staff truly care about the needs of the less fortunate in our community. Nassau County, Barnabas and those in great need benefit from their generosity and active involvement.”
